Fortis Belize Invests in Developing its Energy Leaders

Cayo District, Belize (Friday, July 7, 2023) – With a focus on strengthening the skill sets of supervisors and managers within its organization, thirteen entry and mid-level managers at Fortis Belize are now graduates of a certified leadership training and coaching course led by Ann A Wallace and Associates (AAWAL) and BOLD Inc. The program spanned just over 12 weeks beginning at the end of March 2023, and concluded last week with a final review session.


Program graduates are Power Plant Engineer Aaron Noh, Maintenance Planner and Outage Coordinator Micah Thompson, IT Operations Specialists Dwight Williams and Keila Mai, Procurement Officer Francis Vasquez, Trainee Engineer Justin Marin, Project Liaison and Dam Safety Technician Howard Cabral, Project Manager Nicole Salazar, Accountant Tiffany Burns, Operations Supervisors Rogelio Guerra and Henry Linares, Supervisor Administrative Services Shantel Leslie, and Health, Safety and Environment Manager Albert Roches.

The hybrid leadership and coaching course included pre-workshop and leadership style assessments, self-awareness reviews, the John Maxwell Five Levels of Leadership course, and the John Maxwell 360 degree Leadership workshop. The program promotes positive self-leadership as a foundation for leading others and creating a sustainable workplace culture that drives business objectives and can thrive in today's ever-evolving energy sector landscape.


During an intimate graduation ceremony, President and CEO Kay Menzies expressed her excitement and congratulated certificate recipients. She said, "Leadership can be one of the most rewarding roles you have professionally. You are responsible for breaking down silos, inspiring greatness and seeing what others don't to bring the big picture together.
