Fortis Belize Hosts Fourth Annual Back-to-School Drive Benefiting Local Primary School Students

San Ignacio, Belize (Friday, July 19, 2024) – The Fortis Belize Fourth Annual Back-to-School Drive benefited 100 primary school students from Cristo Rey, Bullet Tree, Santa Familia, Calla Creek, Santa Elena, and San Ignacio Town on Friday, July 12, 2024. The initiative was led by Fortis Belize Social Club Chairman Marlon Ruiz and Fortis Belize staff, who organized and carried out the most recent program.

The festivities took place at the John Evans Headquarters in San Ignacio. Each child, aged 5 to 12, received a backpack and essential supplies, including pencils, pens, organizers, composition books, folders, staplers, rulers, and more—everything needed to support their academic success this school year.

The proceedings began with a safety message delivered by Operations Supervisor Henry Linares. Students were also treated to lunch alongside their parents and school and village representatives. Another event highlight came from Cristo Rey Primary School Standard 4 student Kristy Tun, who expressed her thanks and shared an inspiring message about how having the right tools makes a big difference for students wanting to learn.
